Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Lessing (born in 1964) studied violoncello, music education and German Language and Literature in Frankfurt a.M. and Berlin. He earned his doctorate in musicology with a dissertation on "Die Hindemithrezeption Th. W. Adornos" , Schott Publishers 1999 . In 2002 he became a professor for music education and instrumental didactics at the Conservatory Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, Germany
